Background
Information
Still relatively young Hugh Mitchell decided he had enough of the corporate world and decided to experience life on his terms. Tropical beaches were calling his name and he currently calls Thailand home.
Having grown up in a small town in the Midwest, Hugh decided at a young age he wanted adventure and travel. This was the beginning of the computer chip revolution which gave him the opportunity to live in Asia since 1993.
As an avid traveler all over Asia, Hugh has traveled off the beaten path and experienced many adventures during these years.
Now a semi-retired engineer from the high tech industry, Hugh became aware of the retirement crisis’s gripping more people buy watching family members and friends just getting by once they hit retirement age. And it’s not just retirement; he also observed the day to day life of people caught up in the Rat Race and not living a life, or at least a life on their terms.
The inspiration for writing came after many requests from friends and acquaintances asking advice on how to live overseas, where to live, and what are the best locations.
Writing a small guide for how Hugh created a life for himself has turned into a Series of Books, Your Escape for Living Overseas. These books are written with an unbiased view including loads of practical information that anyone can immediately apply.
People of all ages are creating a life for themselves using the principles taught by Hugh. He is becoming a sought out expert for living overseas and building up a following with the practical advice contained within the books.
Helping others and giving back has always been high priority of life for Hugh and writing is his new passion. Hugh is currently working on more travel books to be published soon.
Currently, Hugh spends his time outdoors learning photography, sailing, scuba diving the reefs around Thailand, mountain biking, playing the guitar and becoming a gourmet cook.
Please feel free to Hugh send an email; he always looks forward to hearing from readers.
