My father was a violent drunk. He went to jail when I was eleven came out when I was sixteen.  We fought until I was eighteen. I joined the British Army to avoid killing the bugger. I took to soldiering pretty well. Two small wars and a peacekeeping stint later I left after twelve years. I had two kids by then and wanted to see them grow up. I was sick of violence anyway. I have always loved reading and wrote to get things out of my system. PTSD was not recognised in those days. Writing helped greatly especially humour. Turning things into a joke and/or seeing the funny side of life is a great, positive shield. True I can write pretty dark stuff but I much prefer humour.

In the forces I wrote for the regimental magazine. I have had short stories published in local papers and poems,anecdotes and letters published in National Press.

Having been to various schools the length and breadth of England I never picked up even one certificate. I left age fifteen in 1957 to help support my family.

I got Army Cert of Ed 1st Class and left the forces a senior signals instructor. I have just finished a thriller "Terror Strike London" soon to be uploaded.
