Vivienne Barker, born and raised in England, art college dropout, fish and chip fryer, civil servant, library technician and much more. Having worked for “the man” all her adult life, decided to finally do what she wanted, which was to look after animals. Her company Four on the Floor (and a Tail) was a passion for five years prior to retirement when a new passion took hold--writing!

At a party, we were asked to speak about family origins and any interesting events therein. Friends were intrigued by my words, and said I should write a book. Had to put this on the back burner until I retired. The Train Now Leaving was started mainly to save my sanity while confined to home for three months due to family illness. Scribbled away for a year until the Train finally left the station when it was picked up by Black Opal Publishing and launched May 2017. I've always enjoyed family sagas and admire Jeffrey Archer for his complex stories which always end on a cliff hanger and thirsting for the next book. My book has received great reviews but always with the caveat--its too short, what happens next??? Watch this space.
