Having worked in the area of Russia and the USSR, including a tour of duty as a Russian-speaking employee of the United States Information Agency, and observing the current political trends in America -- most especially the apparent attaction many young people feel toward Socialism -- I decided to share my eyewitness testimony of what daily life was like in the society which spawned today's Russian Government leaders.
