I have been writing poetry since age 12. My life influences include Coach Roger Freeborn and Dr. Robert Schuller. My first collection of poetry was awarded the Pacific Northwest Young Author's Conference award through Seattle Pacific University. I have been writing since then as well as publishing fanzines, a magazine and now a poetry anthology. This latest endeavor began as an online poetry contest and flourished into a fundraiser for the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance. It has been a labor of love collecting poetry for a variety of writers that identify with mental illness. 

"Glendora Pride" was the first LGBTQ publication of it's time in Glendora, California, a conservative suburb of Los Angeles. It later grew to "Voices of Pride" and was distributed throughout LA, San Gabriel Valley and San Bernadino counties. I then began writing for both The Album Network and Virtually Alternative music magazines after working as the promotion administrator for Motown Records. Years later I published "Get Fancy!"the only independent music trade magazine of its kind.

"Flecks of Red" is a labor of love and anyone that struggles with mental illness will find something to relate to within these pages. From anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and PTSD, these raw and reflective works help break down the stigma associated with mental illness one poem at a time.
