Major influences are Henry Miller, C S Forrester, John Steinbeck, Philip K Dick, Kurt Vonnegut, Alejio Carpentier, T S Eliot, W H Auden, R S Thomas, Ted Hughes, Jack Kerouac, Leonard Cohen, John Clare, Walt Whitman, Lorca, Cavafy, Basho, Issa, William Carlos Williams, and so on and so on and so on.......

I've had a few difficult years one way and another. Boho/Bluechrome press took a couple of years slowly going into receivership - while I had 4 books with them. Latterly BeWrite Books has undergone major reorganisation, and it too is about to cease trading March 31st 2013. I'm no longer therefore their poetry editor. BeWrite did though bring out a second edition of 'The Secret Report of Friar Otto'. Phew! Friar Otto has since then got wonderful reviews. I can only hope that Endeavour Press take it on as they have 'Marks' - releasing it under the new title 'Hit and Run' The good and bad years continued. After my move to Wales I met up with David Norrington who was pushing his new indie publishing endeavour, Wordcatcher Publishing. He took on 11 of my titles. And then... came Covid, lockdown, bookshops closed, few sales... and I was again looking for publishers. 2021. One doesn't tend to read one's own biography. (Why would one? One has lived it.) Must have written the above in 2016. Been a lot happening since. I moved house, met a chap called David Norrington at a book fair. He runs Wordcatcher Publishing. He has now republished my 5 book SF series, 2 poetry collections, 'The Secret Report of Friar Otto', 'Something's Wrong' and brought out my novel, 'Trees' in paperback. We had worries this previous year that the business might not survive the pandemic, but on the very last day of the year I received a spreadsheet of my royalties and was told of what was in store for this next year, 2021. Phew!
