I'm of Scots-Irish descent and grew up on a farm in the South, which gave me genetically a love of the land and a good work ethic. I have a degree in history and political science, and I believe public service is the highest calling a citizen of this country can aspire to. Aviation is my vocation, and aviation safety is the motivation for my public service.

Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor

"Rarely Well-Behaved" is a collection of my short stories published by iUniverse.com in December 2000. I've been pleased at its modest success. I am also the Editor of "FAA Aviation News," a safety magazine for pilots and mechanics. My first novel, awaiting a publisher, is "A Perfect Hatred." It details in fictional form the events leading up to the Oklahoma City Bombing. I have another novel almost ready for publication. "Self-Inflicted Wounds" is a political thriller and murder mystery taking place in modern Yugoslavia. I hope to get it to a publisher by the end of this year. A third novel is in outline form, and it is tentatively entitled, "The Game," and describes the difficulties of two UN spies as they leave behind a career in espionage. A fourth novel, in the concept stage, has a working title of "Fuel for Hell" and involves the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
