Currently working on a collection of short stories with the recurring characters Detective Hodgins and Constable Barnes. Set in Toronto 1874-1899. Each story is based on something that really happened. Book one, Body in the Harbour, is available at http://www.nancipattenden.com/books. Enjoy Emily Brightwell, the older Stephen King books, Clive Cusser, John Saul, Dean Koontz, Monica Ferris. On the back-burner is a fictionalized account of a true story that I found doing some family research.  I was on an episode of Ancestor's in the Attic, on the Canadian History Channel - first season.  This provided some information that was missing in my research.  Since I do not have enough information to write a non-fiction, I decided to turn it into an historical fiction.  Not the norm for a genealogist.
