Author, musician, poet and educator, Johnette Downing is dedicated to keeping the musical and literary heritage of Louisiana alive from the roots up sharing a gumbo of Cajun, Creole, Dixieland Jazz, Jazz and Zydeco influences for children interntationally. She has given concerts for children, author visits, keynotes and educator workshops in over eleven countries and has received nineteen national awards.
