Lee began studying astrology in 1976, when she was still in graduate school. Immediately drawn to its practical applications, she almost immediately noticed the divide between what astrology said it could do, and what was actually happening. The quest to close this divide eventually drew her to classical style astrology, and to horary as a specialty. Her academic background encouraged her to examine the field critically, and to understand the history and philosophy behind the techniques, not merely their application.
