A successful business manager, when she retired Barb was disturbed by old memories buried deep under the clutter of everyday problems associated with being a busy corporate manager, wife, stepmom, entertainer and all the things that took up most of her waking hours.  From those memories came the discovery of underlying messages she had been taught about who she was.  The result was anger and a revelation that much of what she had learned was wrong.  She shares her journey of self discovery in a story filled with honesty, humor and sadness published under the title "Warm Tears and Cold Rutabaga Don't Mix (or Ma Was It Me or You?)"

A frequently published poet and winner of the International Poet's "Shakespeare" Award, Barb also published her own book of poems entitled "From the Heart to the Funny Bone" which reveals her deep faith in God and her keen sense of humor.
