I grew up in a natural wilderness park in North Vancouver, BC, Canada, called Lynn Canyon Park. My parents, at that time were the caretakers of the 612 acre  park and ran a store, a food concession, and a gift shop for the thousands of visitors who enjoyed the park each year. A rainforest of giant one-hundred year old Douglas-fir, hemlock, and red cedars, surrounded the family’s home. Twin snowy mountain peaks, a deep canyon and a world famous suspension bridge were the view from the picture window of their home. The cable suspension bridge swayed 20 stories above the raging Lynn Creek. I loved to hike the mountain trails, swim and fish in the creek.  The poem I have posted The Valley of the Ravine  is remembering my younger years in the park. I now reside in Atlantic Canada with my husband,  my two married children and three grandchildren live near. I am a member of Innercircle of Poets.
