An entertainment attorney residing with her family in southern California, Vernelle Edwards writes like she talks - straight, no chaser. Although she sketched notes for her first novel, "Missionary", she didn't finish the book or publish it until after the death of her mother. "Writing is therapeutic, cathartic and most importantly, it's fun," observes Attorney Edwards with her trademark smile. "Also," she continues, "one of the proudest moments of my life occured at a booksigning in Atlanta, Georgia when a mother purchased my book and handed it to her teenaged daughter saying, See, this woman is black just like you and she's an author. You can do it too Baby." When Ms. Edwards represented the late James Brown and took his music to France's MIDEM music festival, she did not think anything could eclispe that professional accomplishment.
