For as long as he can remember Basil Sands has been using facts and imagination to weave stories for anyone who would listen. The tapestry on which his tales began to form started with his birth in 1968 in rural interior Alaska and his school years among the cornfields of Ohio where he wished to be somewhere else, anywhere else, as long as it was exciting.The pallete of experiences from which he has been able to draw for the craft is as widely varied as can be. After finishing school he moved back to Alaska, then has lived in San Diego, Washington DC, Baltimore Md., and Columbus Ohio. He served his nation in the Marines then worked in a wide variety of fields (many simultaneously) including restaurant manager, military food service manager for the National Security Agency (chef to the spies), owned & operated a custom computer shop, worked as a carpenter, farmer, stage actor, lumberjack, tv commercial voice actor, Wilderness Rescue Certified Emergency Medical Technician, computer network manager, helpdesk supervisor, Boy Scout leader, IT training specialist, radio talk show host, computer forensics technician, youth minister, and after 9/11 spent three years as a sergeant in the Alaska State Defense Force Coastal Scouts.
