I wrote a potato cookbook - The Spud Book - and toured the US as "Spudman," cooking potatoes for television audiences and celebrity hosts, including Regis Philbin and Pat Boone). Former smuggler and courier behind the old Iron Curtain. My writing was heavily influenced by the incredible places, faces, and experiences of the old Iron Curtain, plus my studies. I sometimes tell people I got a BA in BS because I'm annoyingly chatty and love asking questions.

Surviving cancer. I was told if I lived 18 months, I would probably live to be 100. That was in 1991, so I am happy to report, I am well on my way toward that goal.
