www.mibrownekue.webs.com I have a Ph.D in Education Administration with a concentration in Curriculum Development. I am a retired educator, having taught for thirty years. I worked from nursery school through the college level. The following people were instrumental in my decision to become a teacher:   1. My second grade teacher was such a warm person and an effective educator that I chose to be like her.   2. My mother did not get a formal education, and I witnessed how she struggled to make ends meet. She could not help me with my homework when I was in grade school.    3.  When I started teaching, I discovered that too many of the parents of the children I taught were in the same predicament as my mother. 4. To further help adults I worked with the New York City Literacy Volunteers, teaching adults the basics in reading and writing. My first book is entitled, "SHEER WILLPOWER, Faith displaces hopelessness with optimism."
