Accomplishments
Cynthia received the Missouri SCBWI 2006 Mentorship Award for her middle grade novel, THE SLIGHTLY TANGLED TALES OF JIM-BO BAXTER. Her short story, "The Emily Explosion," won one of the five top spots in the SmartWriters Contest and is soon to be published in the middle grade anthology, THE GIRLS, from Blooming Tree Press. Three of her poems have won top honors in the annual Springfield, Missouri Writers Guild Contest. Her Hispanic Christmas story, "The Lost Shepherd Boy," received Special Mention in the 2006 Society of Southwestern Authors Writing Contest. Her latest Christmas story, "Christmas Treasures," earned first runner-up in the 2007 Springfield Writers Contest.
Cynthia Reeg earned a Masters of Library Science from Oklahoma University. Cynthia is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, the Missouri Writers Guild, the St. Louis Children’s Writers Circle, the American Library Association, the Catholic Library Association, and the St. Louis Catholic Library Association.
