I grew up on Cleveland's west side, went to University School, then received a BA with a major in Writing Composition from Denison University. While at Denison I studied under David Baker, Dean of the English Department and Midland Poetry Prize winner for Sweet Home Saturday Night. I love John Irving, Graham Greene, Thomas Pynchon, Cormac McCarthy, Tim O'Brien, Michael Chabon, Melville, Hemingway, Faulkner, etc.

Accomplishments
I was Co-Editor of the Denisonian my sophmore year, and Poetry Editor for Exile -- Denison's literary magazine -- my senior year. I was one of three to win the Annie MacNeil Poetry Prize, and was also awarded Denison's annual Best Personal Essay award.
