Information
As a disabled veteran, my love for the military has led me to work as a civilian for the government. I am a Systems Engineer on the Senior Staff with a Department of Defense contractor. While working with my current company, I volunteered to deploy to Iraq for a year tour of duty. I was in Baghdad for all of 2006 providing critical communications for many military units. I love working with the soldiers!!
I began writing this book for my daughter so she would have something from me while I was away, in Iraq.
My motivation for continued writing stems from the lack of good reading material in the hands of our youngsters. It is time to replace the video game controller with a good book.
Accomplishments
- I was awarded "Best Daddy Ever" by my daughter, Georgia ;)
- As a US Army soldier I was awarded "Soldier of the Year" three times at the Division level and "NCO of the Year" twice.
- Awarded Army Commendation Medal for leading the first US Army team to Sling Load equipment over the "Iron Curtain" in Germany. (Sling Load is transporting equipment via aircraft)
