I am a retired police officer but I don't write about cops; I write mystery/adventure with an Arthurian twist, using modern settings and characters. My main character is a Midwestern college professor who is plunged into combat with the same forces that overthrew Arthur, and learns that he is the last of the Pendragons.
I have been a cop for 18 years, and still serve part time as DARE officer and rangemaster for a small department in Kansas. Before that I taught English, speech, and theatre on the high school and college level. I hold the master's degree in theatre from Southern Illinois University--believe it or not, it has been a considerable help in police work. I got interested in Arthurian matters long ago and felt that there ought to be a modern trilogy involving Arthurian themes. I couldn't find one, so I wrote one.
Since the trilogy I have been writing straight action thrillers, the first of which is Twilight in Xanadu, which you can find elsewhere in this site. I'm working on the second in that series, tentatively titled The Valhalla Project, which I hope will be out within a year or so. My books are also available in hardback now, from PublishAmerica. A third in the action thriller series is in the "thinking about it" stage.
