I am a native of Central Texas, who moved to East Texas, and always aspired to be a writer. My novel, "Hostage to Her Heart",  the first book of the Cross Passage Series, needed a severe reboot, although it had been published by Authorhouse. They will publish anything for money, including rubbish. I saw the sorrow of previous writing and closed the contract. There may be a way to still order the original book online. However, I went to work on all previous content and am self-publishing with Createspace. The first book is in the re-write/editing phase and I have renamed it to "Dearest to her Heart". It covers the span of 15 years of a couple's beginning and finding success later in life; igniting a dream for the main male character. It is a love story which faces unusual circumstances for a young couple seeking to learn about each other, seeing one is a selfish American and the other a kind-hearted Brit. I believe it is well worth the read. The Cross Passage series is also a saga of two cosmic friends, Tara Reece and Ross Kelly, whose destinies lead them to fame. Their bond is inseparable which leads to interesting romantic conflicts along the way There are sequels,  Falling for Her Heart, Hearts Restless Winds, and Our Forsaken Hearts, which covers a year in the life of the duo and their unique brood. I have thought about a fifth book, pushing the whole family into the future; but as of yet, it isn't written. My writing depicts ideals from music, pop culture, belief in prayer, fame, and family relationships. I took a situation of "what if" and expanded a story where you are uncertain of what might happen,  to get to the heart of the character's emotions and conflicts. I hope you will find the series fun and memorable, like a rollercoaster ride at an amusement park.   The other novelette is called The Groundsman; an interesting theory if a man can change his circumtance in life in order to be with the woman he loves. I struggled to make this story ring true, and would appreciate feedback.   I strive to write about different scenarious and times. I hope it works for you. .
