Raised in Miami, Florida, George served in the U.S. Air Force from December 1960 to May 1969, earning a Master Missileman Badge with the Mace tactical missile program.  George joined IBM at the Miami field engineering office in June 1969 as a data recording customer engineer, and fully retired December 1997 as an Advisory Systems Engineer.  Active as a volunteer instructor the Miami Yacht Club's Youth Sailing Program for most of the 80's, George served on the club's board of Governors 1985 - 1986. George formed Customized Services Management, a consulting company specializing in Business Impact Analysis and Disaster Preparedness Planning.  Retiring to Port Charlotte, Florida, George, has been active with Community organizations, and wrote a business column for the Charlotte Sun-Herald newspaper for seven years.
