Food has always played an important part in my life. From my beginning culinary experiences of shopping with my grandfather in Philadelphia's Italian Market to Sunday family dinners. My culinary passion is an extension of my life, and experience that helps me to relive the special time I had growing up around large tables filled with food ,friends, family and fun! While modeling in Italy, I began studying my family's culinary roots and also studied the culinary arts professionally while in Italy. I also spent time cooking with chefs in Italy, at various restaurants, wineries, schools, resorts as well as hosting cooking programs myself in Italy.  My book series won an award in 2010- the  Gourmand World Cookbook Awards and in 2013 my blog was selected as the Culinary Travel Blog of the Year by the NY Travel Writers' Society,. Recently winner of the Culinary Content Innovators Award by Corporate Live Wire (London England)   The Basic Art of Italian Cooking book series was created  as an extension of my life. My life is about food, family, travel and style and bringing that all together! There are 3 books in the series- The Basic Art of Italian Cooking, The Basic Art of Italian Cooking:Holidays and Special Occasions- 2nd edtion, The Basic Art of Italian Cooking:DaVinci Style and 8 paperback books in The Basic Art...series. They include: The Basic Art of Pasta, The Basic Art of Pizza, The Basic Art of Christmas Dinner, The Basic Art of Cocktails, The Basic Art of Coffee, The Basic Art of Cocktails, The Basic Art of Experiencing Venice and The Basic Art of Creating a Tuscan Style Wedding   My book series was turned into a TV series briefly for PBS, it was filmed in Italy but showin in the USA. The Maria Liberati Show is a podcast that brings together food with culture, travel and life and interviews with interesting people engaged in related topics as well as excerpts from my book series and recipes. The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Llberati tm is now a ROKU channel. As  culinary, wine and culinary heritage expert I do many appearances and speaking engagements live and virtual.
