Early experiences in Almond, New York and encouragement from a storyteller/anthologist/librarian/author aunt as well as an award winning author sister provide much of Dave's motivation in his own writing. His long interest in American Indians, martial arts, hunting, fishing, and survival has given birth to Bryan MacKay, a composite of people he has known over the years. Through Bryan's eyes we see Native America as it was before the European invasions. A sequel to the author's first novel is already in the works.
