When you take the time and trouble to develop it, the ability to play with language and the written word is probably among the most beautiful gifts one can have. Long I have employed my writing skills to benefit others; first my less literate but more academic friends in university, then bored business men with the desire to see their name in print. Today, I write for myself and an ever-growing fan base as a cultural reporter and (aspiring) novelist. When it comes to literature, long my inspiration has come from contemporary writers such as Brett Easton Ellis and Ian McEwan. As any man I found solace in Hemingway and Faulkner. Now I speak Spanish, I have discovered the beauty in Vargas Llosa and Cortázar. However, I tend to get my inspiration from other sources as well. Music, from Bob Dylan to Interpol, brings me in the right mood. The unexpected experiences from living abroad most of the time broaden my horizon. My style is as diverse as my interests are, but I tend to rely on stream of conscious narrative and dialogue. Maybe because my head is never quiet and meeting people is my favourite passtime.
