My mother was my major influence in the way she taught me that if someone doesn't invite me to join their club, just start my own and make it better. That coupled with a love of women's fiction with writers like Elizabeth Berg, Melissa Banks, Anne Lamott, and a slew of others, made me have the audacity to write and then actually publish one of my novels.
