I've been writing seriously for more than 14 years (I've lived a multitude of more years than that!) and finished manuscripts that served as a learning process.  I belong to RWA, the local chapter DARA, where I've learned a good deal about writing, writers, and friendship among writers.  It's a chatty and fun affair of words and shared goals.  While RWA sponsors romance, I've found my voice in my first love, fantasy (although romance trickles in because when you hang out with romance writers, you absorb the essence).  I've discovered that my voice is more humor than not, even when I want to write about a 'dark and stormy night'.  So I've accepted this with a shrug and embraced what I enjoy writing the most; it makes the words easier to find, the goal more enjoyable to fulfill.  I love good historical and epic fantasy (and a good romance), and hope that I can offer as much entertainment in my words as my favorite authors have given me.

The Dragons' Veil, was an RWA Golden Heart finalist in 2005. I've had second places, third places, and honorable mentions through the years for romance or fantasy manuscripts I've entered in various contests. Acknowledgment is always nice.
