I have held all kinds of jobs:

• Food service (server, bartender, cook, busboy, dishwasher)
• Music and consumer electronics retail (associate and merchandiser)
• Office jobs (clerk, general accounting, bookkeeping, researcher)
• My favorite (even though I have never considered it work) is writer and editor for several venues: college newspaper, two small publications, freelance for several publications. 

Some background on my life's journey.

In 1994, I dropped out of college to pursue opportunities in the music industry.

In 1995, I had events that led me into freelance journalism and I pursued them hard for two years. 

In 1997, I lost a job and floundered for three years to regain my confidence and figure out some direction in my life.

In 2000, I went back to college on a part-time basis to earn a business degree. Went steady for the Fall 2000 and Spring 2001 semesters. I took the Fall of 2001 off to focus in starting a new job and adjust to new schedule.

September 11, 2001: I took stock of my own life and began to count the blessings that I have. That day, I decided that I needed to control my own future, and I needed to satisfy my hunger for happiness in all forms. 

September 22, 2001: I changed my major back to Communication with a focus in Media Studies. I want to work in the film industry on several levels over time. I want to pursue a career in Media Relations/Publicity.

Winter 2002: I began my coursework towards a different degree. I took classes in public speaking, a business media writing course, a creative writing poetry class and a math course to finish my general requirements. 

Summer 2002: Took a news writing class and I had a professor who really re-kindled my desire to write for the public. I also began to think about writing a novel someday. 

During the three week break between summer and fall semester, I began to work intensely on my family website (see link number 1), and I began to e-mail authors who I admired. 

Fall 2002: School has started back up, and I took 12 hours which included marketing, management, screenwriting and principles of public relations. By the end of the semester, I was more than ready for some down time. I earned an A and three C's, but two of them were close to B's.

Winter 2003: Started with 4 classes but dropped down to 3.  Began writing for the school newspaper posting the articles on my AuthorsDen website and some on my personal Web site. Took a feature writing class, and I am considering putting some those works onto AuthorsDen.

Summer 2003: I took three classes, which included a two-week intensive study course in Public Relations (a one week trip to New York was part of the course.), study of Communication Theory and a research methods class. Came out of the classes with one A and two C's.  I was also promoted to Campus Life editor at the school newspaper.

Fall 2003: It has not started yet, but I will be working to graduate this semester.  I am taking two classes, and I am receiving internship credit for my work at the newspaper.  I am certainly looking forward to this last leg of school.

Spring 2004: Well it took an extra semester, but I graduated with my Bachelor degree in Communication this past May.  I was also fortunate enough to land a career-oriented job just two weeks after commencement.  I am working full-time as a curriculm writer for a educational software company.
