I am a national best-selling author determined to write novels that do not pigeon-hole me. I love including mystery, suspense and romance in my stories. I am a 2007 National Best Book Award Winner and a 2008 Indie Excellence Award Winner for Living, Breathing Lies, which I self published.  My latest book, SASSY, is an edge-of-the-seat mystery/suspense.    In 2000 I self-published my second novel, Shades of Jade; sold 13,000 copies and was picked up by Random House who re-released Shades of Jade in 2001 and as well published Promises to Keep in 2002.  In 2003 I signed with Kensington Books and under contract published four novels (The Honey Well, Distant Lover, What's Done in the Dark, and If There Be Pain). However, with the 2007 release of Living, Breathing Lies, in my determination to write the stories I am most passionate about, I returned to the self-publishing arena.   I have made several national best-seller’s lists and have been profiled in USA Today, the New York Daily News, Today’s Black Woman, and The Pocono Record.   Publisher’s Weekly has said about my books, “Mallette's great strength is her willingness to reveal the weaknesses and occasional petty vindictiveness of all her protagonists. . .,” and “Mallette's balanced perspective and well-rounded characters will keep fans riveted."   I am anxious to see the conclusion of my next.
