I was born and raised in essex, you could say i had a troubled childhood, a violent father, i always seemed to be living under the threat of a bloody good hiding for something or other. The beatings were real enough but to me this was normal, so i don,t understand it when other people try to blame the mistakes of their lives in the present on  what happened to them in the past. That to me is a cop out, i used my experiences to make sure that my children diddn,t go through, that what i had endured, i broke the cycle of abuse and i am proud of that.  Talking of cycles, when i was a kid i used to pray to God every night for a bike, after a while i realised that God didn,t work like that so i went out and stole a bike and then i  prayed for forgiveness.    My first and everlasting fascination since i was a child has been with our feathered friends the birds, it is something that has grown with me and now i am  a wildlife warden and i enjoy the outdoor life immensely, it beats wasting time in the pub any day of the week.  The last few years i have been working on The Nemesis File 2, with my great friend from our special forces days, Paul savage,. Although he is not aknowledged in the first book, The Nemesis File, his input was highly valuable and he has every right to claim himself as one of the authors of that bestseller.

I think my greatest achievement apart from being the father of two great children was saving the lives of three little girls who were about to be swept away and drowned in Belfast Lough during a frightening thunderstorm. I have also been awarded some medals but they are just peices of metal on ribbons. I am also extremely proud that my son decided not to join the army. any father who has seen and been involved with the horror and senseless futility of it would not want their children to go through the same pointless risks.
