Skye Savoy began her creative writing at an early age, in her hometown of Pensacola, Florida. The first award-winning story she wrote at the age of 14 involved the antics of a klutzy Driver’s Ed student named Louise. Upon embarking on her career in health-care marketing, her writing style was temporarily transformed into something a little more professional until she became pregnant with her daughter and was possessed by an unquenchable thirst to complete a novel. Skye now calls Mississippi home. She spends her time making up stories about fairies for her daughter and stories about where those new shoes came from for her husband. She remains active being stereotyped as a dumb blond in a murder mystery dinner theater troupe for which she’s written several plays. Currently, Skye is working on a series of paranormal novels. Strong women influence my writing. My characters are based on my friends and co-workers. My characters also perpetuate advice (good and not so good) from my grandmother and mother. Writers with strong voices like Katie MacAlister, Charlaine Harrison, Michele Rowan, Jennifer Estep, Dakota Cassidy and Ilona Andrews also influence my writing. I love comic relief and these women invented it.
