Ok world, here it is, my background. I know you all have been waiting! (Just kidding.) Well ,where should I start. I began writing poetry when I was a teenager battling normal teenage illnesses. Hardheadedness, disrespectfulness, and the chronic illness of them all, rebelling against my parents. Being that I was hardheaded, I ran across some major problems by the time I was 14. I was raped when I was a freshman in High School, so that played a MAJOR part in my poetic identity. I began writing about abuse, depression and love. Or what I thought was love. I published my first book when I was 24. It was a way to release all that built up emotion from my adolescent years. I became the voice for others who had been abused. But I didn't let what happen to me define who I was to become. I am a jokester by nature. I'm a Capricorn, so I tend to saturate the market in whatever I am into at the time. I’ve written for local news circulars about anything from fashion, domestic violence, our local bus and rail system and frolicking fathers. (All in BFLY Magazine) I've done work with Radio One and Sportstalk Cleveland. I hosted my own poetry nights at the Olive Twyst here in Cleveland I'm working on my second book project and I hope and pray it will be done by the summer of 2011(fingers crossed) Ive found that writing is my passion and I want to do a great job and make a difference in my community by bringing us all together for entertainment and music.
