Samantha is a unique artist only using red ink in her drawings. She comes across a red feather pen enchanted never to run out of ink but she soon discovers that the drawings created from the pen come to life.

There is so much to know and at some point to take what knowledge one has chipped away from the massive block to shape into something new, which in turn leads to new questions, new answers, new creations out of the answers, and on we go.
A handful of original monologues blossomed into four collections; some have been collected by others. Research for a novel led to questions about 18th century France which led to an academic paper which led to questions about the croissant which led to a book on August Zang (who introduced it) which led to further questions on bread which led to some articles for a French dictionary on bread. Other branches of the same research resulted in collections of recipes and of criminal cases.

How does it all hang together? Can't say, having never tried.
