My goal is to love more and fear less, have gratitude, live in the present, remain curious and treat life as a wondrous adventure.
Although I was born in New Orleans I spent my childhood in South Africa. I returned to America in my early 20s to meet my biological father. I worked as a Pan Am Flight Attendant in New York City and London for two years.
Bud Queen, my husband and hearts companion, and I live in a log cabin in the woods next to Rocky Creek near Forsyth, GA.
We enjoy canoe camping, hiking, backpacking and sailing. Our outdoor adventures are mostly in the Southeast but also include Alaska, California, Minnesota, Maine, Colorado, Wyoming, Florida and sailing in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. My book “Earth, the Forgotten Temple: A Spirit Quest in the Wilderness” was published in 2000. It's about my spiritual journey while hitchhiking on sailboats in the Bahamas, canoe camping in the Everglades and Suwannee River and solo backpacking in the North Georgia mountains.

A retired Licensed Professional Counselor who worked with children for 20 years at a Mental Health Center in Macon, Georgia. Has a BA and MS degree in Psychology.
Has written articles and columns for The Atlanta Journal & Constitution, The Macon Telegraph, Bibb Neighbor, the Monroe County Reporter, Forsyth's Columns Magazine, Atlanta’s Oracle 20-20 and Atlanta's Aquarius.
Received the Catherine J. Duncan Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement from Georgia's Fort Valley State University in 1989.
Recipient of nine awards in photography and an Art Award from South Africa's Krugersdorp High School in 1968.
