Creating fiction gives one the power to design other lives, filled with romance and adventure, intrigue and passion. My own writing career began in middle school creative writing class, inspiring me to later major in literature. All it took was one teacher’s encouragement and I was on my way. Writing as Anne Carter, I’m the author of nine published novels, including mystery, romance, paranormal, alternative romance and even a middle grade reader. As for the personal stuff, I’m a Virgo, a procrastinator, like warm better than cold and drink neither Coke nor Pepsi. I was born Pamela Ann Carter in the Midwest but migrated to California as a child. My hobbies include doll collecting, photo restoration and writing, of course. My favorite sport is ice hockey, my favorite TV shows include mysteries, romance (Duh!), cooking shows (BRITISH BAKE OFF!) and crime series that make you think and not count bodies. I am married to my hero of 40+ years and have 3 great kids and two delightful grands. I LOVE to travel. Mike and I enjoy cruising, having been to Alaska, Spain, Portugal, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, Croatia, Montenegro, Mexico, Eastern and Western Canada and Italy. We’ve also traveled through England and Scotland, Hawaii, and Singapore. (Sighing at the memories as I write this!) Can’t wait to get back out there. I am also a lighthouse fanatic, and I guess it was only a matter of time before my obsessions collided and I wrote paranormal romantic lighthouse mysteries, (see the BEACON POINT ROMANCE series).I actually spent days (and nights) holed up alone inside of a lighthouse in the Pacific Northwest while writing the first of these books. What a trip that was! Coming next will be Book Four: AMOROSO PASS! For those looking for something different, try UNMASKING PAULIE BINGHAM, an “alternative romance” about the challenges faced by a young, bisexual “glam” rock star in the 1980’s. Paulie is a sweet, lovable character whom you can’t help but root for in his quest for the right partner. Especially after he’s accused of a murder he couldn’t possibly have committed. A different sort of story, not for everyone. Up next is the third StarCrossed Romance, THE GYPSY IN ME, due out Summer, 2021 – a long time coming, and for StarCrossed fans, hopefully worth the wait. There are four more books in edits! Look for romance & mystery in the REDMOND FAMILY SECRETS trilogy, queuing up for publication this fall. And THE DOG FIXER NEXT DOOR is a sweet, trope-driven romance currently under consideration for traditional publishing. Whew!
