Simhananda is an award winning author of numerous books on photography and spiritual wisdom, (under various pen names), and has been an experienced speaker on this specialized subject for over 35 years. Photography is another of his passions, and has been for many years. A scholar and poet, music-lover and art collector, this avid traveller of our “earth” captures the essence of his numerous voyages with his photography. Simhananda literally means “lion’s roar”, and in a sense his photographs evoke a roar of sensitivity, tenderness and spiritual affirmation both towards and for humanity. Over the past years, Simhananda has published five books of transformative photography, which invite us to a broader awakening, leading us to see the world from an entirely new perspective. Simhananda’s photography compels us to appreciate the divine touch implicit in every moment and to grasp the subtlety and beauty too often overlooked in life. Also, he offered readers a new source of inspiration with the publication of a book of 308 questions, each including the word “Light”. For anyone who chooses to reflect on it, this work is an invitation to see the inner light present in all of us. In 2005, he wrote a remarkable modern interpretation of the teachings of Gampopa, testimony of his profound understanding and mastery of Buddhist teachings. He recently published his second volume on Gampopa’s famous 12th century Buddhist classical works. He resides in the region of Montreal, Canada.
