Information
Phillip grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where he performed as a child actor at The Cleveland Playhouse. He later moved to New York where he performed with The New York Shakespeare Festival, followed by The Repertory Theater of Lincoln Center.
With a change of interest Phillip wrote, directed and edited three short films, all of which had international showings, including The New York Film Festival. With yet another change of interest he returned to Los Angeles to become a produced screenwriter.
Phillip Frey is now devoted only to writing prose. His published books are "Dangerous Times" and "Hym and Hur." His contest-winning story, "The Hero of Lost Causes," may be read in Scribes Valley Publishing's 2016 annual short story anthology. He has since had other short stories published in the literary journals "500 Miles Magazine, "Whatever Our Souls," and "Florida English."
Accomplishments
As a screenwriter I have sole screen credit on one theatrically-released feature. The rest of my professional film work has included treatments and rewrites.
I wrote and directed 3 short films. I was fortunate enough to have one chosen to be shown at the New York Film Festival.
