MY LIFE HAS BEEN A SERIES OF TAKING THE ROADS LESS TRAVELED AND YES, IT HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I grew up in the Bronx. My family moved to Michigan when I was a teenager and I spent most of my adult life there until moving to Florida in 2008. As young as fourteen, I had varied interests that led me to be a reader of a wide range of books and articles ranging from the history of human advancement, to the Law, to astrophysics, American history and a special love of Conan Doyle's, Sherlock Holmes books and short stories. I have always been a movie and television buff following stories of substance and about what makes us humans tick. My personal belief is that the purpose of our lives is to make the world a better place for us having existed in it...to work at being a better human being. Failures, mistakes and successes along the way? Yes, of course, but that principle stays in focus. Even with a strong amount of business experience, and spending most of my life in that arena for my family and to help raise three children and get them through college, I always knew, from the time I began reading, I would someday be a writer. I wanted to learn all that life had to offer and pictured myself as reaching an age old enough to have developed some measure of wisdom I could share. In 2008, at the age of 62, I began a non-fiction book with that purpose in mind. But, as many of us who have been on the planet for a good period of time know, sometimes, from a totally unexpected source, new ideas spring up and it's time to head down one of those less traveled roads. My son passed  me an Academy Award nominated documentary, Deliver Us From Evil, and I immediately became enmeshed in the Catholic Church's pedophilia scandal. After researching hundreds of articles, reading civil suit depositions and interviewing victims and their families, I was literally obsessed to inform the public about what I had discovered well beyond what the media was reporting. Realizing that a non-fiction book on the subject would have limited appeal, I took all my other reading experiences and brought the subject into a detective mystery with a new character I'm pleased to tell my readers love, Dax McGowan.The genre allowed me to provide a method to teach about something important. In 2011, my first title, The Millstone Prophecy was downloaded over 35,000 times, many of them as a free book which helped me reach a wider audience. After my second book, SIX hit the Amazon "shelves" in 2015, I couldn't have been more pleased with the response. The loss of my wife of twenty years had caused me a period of time to adjust my life, but here in 2019, I'm back to writing again working on a new Dax McGowan political thriller with a working title, Rats Nest.
