Miriam Owens is the founder and owner of Rhema Designs, LLC.  Rhema is Miriam's publishing company, and one of the means by which she is able to share her vision of victory and hope with those who happen to be "differently-abled" or chronically ill.   Her faith-based books and other materials are written to educate and inspire anyone who reads them.  Miriam is also happily married and the mother of three children, one of whom has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, ADHD and learning disabilities.  Her personal faith journey while raising her youngest child, is what inspires her to write.  Christians sometimes forget that their religious beliefs, no matter how strong, won't guarantee that their lives won't be touched by hardship and adversity.  Very often, it is the birth of a child with unique challenges that reminds them of this sobering reality. In 2002, Miriam was appointed by the governor of Virginia to serve on the Virginia Interagency Coordinating Council as a Parent Representative.  In 2003, Miriam graduated from the prestigious Partners in Policymaking Program, which is sponsored by The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities.  In 2004, Miriam and her family were featured in a television documentary entitled "Partners: New Leaders in the Disability Rights Movement".  This powerful and informative documentary aired on PBS.  Today, Miriam continues to write books and other materials which encourage and support those who are "differently-abled" and their caregivers.  She remains active in her community as a source of information and guidance for parents of children with disabilities.
