Arthur Hall was born in Aston, Birmingham, UK., in 1944.
From an early age he immersed himself in fiction to escape from an unhappy home life. In later years, he emulated his favourite authors by writing in the same genre.
Background
Information
I have read extensively since childhood. Initially an escape, it became a pleasure and almost an obsession, in the way that sport is for many men.
I began to write somewhere in the 1960s, some manuscripts from those days still gather dust in the attic. I have kept every rejection slip accumulated over the years, and there are many of them, as a sort of history of my attempts to become a published author.
With the advent of computers, preparation became much easier. Also, on-line publishers came into being. I-Proclaim Bookstore accepted two novels and a collection of fourteen short stories, and proved to be the gateway to getting my work into print. Since their demise, Amazon has published all my work as paperbacks and ebooks.
To this day, the ideas keep coming. I have now retired from my work in the Post Office, but as long as I am able I will never retire from writing.
