I've been a competitive runner since 2011 when I ran my very first marathon, an achievement that at one point in my life, I never would have thought about doing. While running this marathon in the pouring rain, I passed a sign in the window of a store that said "If you ever question the human spirit, watch a marathon." I couldn't agree more. There is a certain amount of mental and physical power that comes with running any distance. Over the years of running countless miles and spending countless hours in the gym, I have acquired many stories and experiences that have inspired me to write and share what it's like to be a young female athlete.
