Jim Traylor is a retired Civil Servant, living with his wife Louise and T-La, their Pomeranian pup, in Chandler, Arizona. His hobbies include writing prose, poetry and music, RV traveling and playing the guitar. He is a Vietnam era Army Veteran with nine years’ service. Jim backed into Camp Hill, Alabama on November 25, 1939. Since then he has written volumes of fiction, poems and songs, misplaced most of it and is now self-publishing the rest. At age fourteen, he was an 'Extra' in a German film titled 0815. At seventeen, he worked as 'Dusty the Clown' at a kiddie park and a stock-car racetrack. At twenty-one he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Berlin Wall Crisis and the Vietnam War. At age thirty-seven, he and his wife Louise, owned and operated an image consultation and photography studio. Jim retired from Federal Civil Service on April Fool's Day, 2005.

While life experiences have offered Jim few formal accolades, they have provided a wealth of knowledge and understanding that reflects in the vivacity of his prose and poetry. A Poet’s Passion is Jim’s third book. His debut novel, The Monkey Soldiers centers on the beginning of the Vietnam War, and skillfully blends his fertile imagination and recollections with the dynamics of Southeast Asian turmoil. His anthology, Regina Guitar and other Short Stories, was created over a period of twenty years, then aged in a dark closet for twenty more. Alternately donning his tragedy and comedy masks, Jim has skillfully created heart gripping dramas and absurd slapstick comedies in nine entertaining stories.
