I was born and raised in Effingham IL but moved to Daphne, AL through my husbands job with Exxon/Mobil. I have written a paranormal/fantasy novel about my son Charlie whom we lost at age 23. He passed away July 3, 2009, since that day I have experienced numerous dreams where I visited Charlie in a world connected to Earth through a vortex, which I call Spiro Realm. During these dreams, Charlie and I fight various demons within the Spiro Realm. The dreams became part of me in my grieving that my younger son BJ gave me a journal to write the dreams down into a written form. A few days later, I awoke to our house engulfed in a fog, as I walked to my computer I sat down, breathing heavy, I thought to myself is this real. Then heard Charlie's voice "Mom, please take your dreams and write a book," so I did. Through my book I try to show how grieving can transform from sadness into adapting to the loss of a child. I also, hit on Charlie's struggles in life, bullying, self image, depression, through my dreams and thoughts during grieving.   

I have published an article in The Effingham Daily newspaper concerning saving the historical courthouse. I have been featured in The Devonian newspaper, St. Elmo, IL concerning Beyond Life.I have also been featured in the Daphne, Al area newspapers.
