I was born in London, England, and grew up in the south of the city where I went to school. After the Second World War, and aged 18, I joined the Royal Air Force, reaching the rank of Pilot Officer before aged 19. At the end of my National Service I sailed for Africa, with my older brother, to grow tobacco in what was then Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. The years went by and in Johannesburg I found an insurance brokering company. Over 2% of the companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange were clients of Rimmer Associates. Brokerage companies were opened in the United States of America, Australia and Hong Kong with me travelling extensively between the branches.  For the last twenty years or so, I have been living on my small holding, in South Africa, pretty much as a recluse where I continue to write my books. My passion for writing begun in my early 20's.   My greatest desire is for people to enjoy my books, which I hope you do.

Cry of the Fish Eagle reached number 2 of the Bestsellers list in Zimbabwe in the mid 90's. This was before the advent of the digital world of ebooks!
