About the author, in his own words:
At 17 I joined the Army and served for 10 years, on leaving the army I started a new career in childcare and worked in various children's homes
for local authorities before starting our own children's home, we closed the last home in 2005 and since that time I have been a trainer and
consultant to the childcare sector and although I am semi-retired I am also a local district Councillor and a member of a foster panel.

I have 2 sons and 2 gorgeous granddaughters and my wife Kathleen and I have been married for 39 years.
