Wade Hunter was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania in 1974. When he was four, his family moved to the small town of Saltsburg, northeast of Pittsburgh, Pa. He graduated from Saltsburg Jr.-Sr. High School in 1992. He then attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where he graduated with a degree in pharmacy. Wade found an early love of reading. In his early teens he was introduced to J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, and he became lost in the imaginary visions of the fantasy world. As he grew older and his imagination found new depths, Wade immersed himself in a world of books, movies, and comics. On a challenge from his wife, Michelle (then his girlfriend), Wade began the initial workings of his first full length work. Things went slow at first, and he wondered if he was chasing a crazy fantasy. At points it looked doubtful that he would be able to write the extended piece of fiction, but Wade could feel an inner voice beginning to take shape in his head. With each sentence that voice grew louder, and about a year after he started typing the first sentence of the work, the first draft of Harvest Moon was finished. Then a short time later, life handed Wade a very hard reality check. At the age of twenty seven, two weeks before his wedding to Michelle, he was diagnosed with malignant skin cancer. It was a sudden and mind numbing shock. Thankfully, after several procedures, the cancer was corralled and cleared (caught before it progressed), but the fear that it implanted and the possibility of its return remained. It was that fear that motivated Wade back towards his writing. He knew that he had a story or two to tell. In search of motivation and reassurance that people might enjoy what he had to write, he started The Mole Man Chronicles, an emailing of personal stories and musings sent out to his family and friends. It was received well, and he used it as an outlet to release some of his tension about his recent medical problems, and his dream of writing. Major influences include Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Chuck Palahnuik, and Stan Lee
