Schnerch has survived from over thirty years from a devastating mental illness and twenty-five years of alcoholism. He is well versed in the medical system, government policies and social aspects of these conditions. He is now an advocate for persons living with simular situations. He does this through his writing. His books are raw and revealing, insuring not to leave a stone unturned. His main motivation is to make people aware of these conditions, thus reducing discriminnation and stigmatisim. He is active in the communtity sharing his experience and knowledge with others. He has spoke at several engagements spreading the news about these conditions and how it affects society. It has became his mission in life to help others so that they can return into society as respected members of the community free of names and labels.

Advocate for people living with mental illness and recovering from addiction. Wrote three books on the subject. Fourth is at the editor's and the fifth is half way finished.
