My writings flow out of my educational background and the influence of the antiwar movement in the 1960s and 1970s. I have a BA in Social Science from San Diego State University, a Masters in Theological Studies from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and a Juris-Doctor in Law from the University of San Diego School of Law. My masters thesis was on "liberation theology" in Latin America. The conjunction between human rights claims and moral claims has been at the heart of my work. Therefore, my published work encompasses the union of human rights, theology, nuclear weapons abolition, advnacing "inclusionary governance" and creating "inclusionary states." This approach is dedicated to finding and presenting solutions to ending poverty, encouraging opposition to the anti-developmental policies of the World Bank, IMF, and WTO, and addressing distributive justice issues in conjunction with particiation in decision-making by all major groups, classes, and parties. The theme which resides at the heart of my work is best summed up by the quote from George Bernard Shaw that Robert Kennedy used so often in 1968: "SOME MEN SEE THINGS AS THEY ARE AND ASK "WHY?" I DREAM THINGS THAT NEVER WERE AND ASK "WHY NOT?"
