I was raised in Chicago and lived thereafter in Los Angeles and various places in Alaska. I received a BA degree from the University of Chicago, an MSW from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a DSW from the University of California, Berkeley. I worked as a professor of Sociology at the University of Alaska and as a clinical social worker in Anchorage. Currently I am a full time author of fiction.   

At the University of Alaska I published four books and many articles about Alaska Natives and women. As a psychotherapist I published a number of clinical articles. After retiring from the University I turned to my lifetime desire to write fiction and since have published two novels: TATIANA(Vanessa Press, 2001) and WHEN SHADOWS FELL(Publish America, 2002). Currently, I have in progress an historical novel and several short stories.
