The man with the hip boots and the grocery bag, the woman carrying her baby on her hip, characters inspire me to write about ordinary people struggling with extraordinary problems. After a decade of writing short stories and collecting awards, I sent out ia novel and was amazed when a publisher wanted to print it. White Lies (Cedar Creek, 2007). My dream to have readers for the stories I create.
Accomplishments

2. A December 08 'Editor's Pick' for second novel, Waltzing Cowboys, on Bookview.com
3. Statewide VA Writers Club Fiction award 2006 for story, The Serengeti of the Heart, and second place 2008 for The Perfect Funeral.
4. First place story awards from New Millenium, Antietam Review, The HooK, and SouthLit
5. John Grisham chose two of my stories for second and third place in the 2008 annual Hook Fiction contest.
